Here's What's Happening This Weekend

Here are some things to do this weekend, Nov. 22-24, in Barrington:

The Stagemasters at Barrington High School present three performances of “The Wizard of Oz” starting today at 7 pm and continuing on Friday at 7 pm and on Saturday at 2 pm in the John Gray Auditorium. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students. 

The Barrington Pop Warner football and cheer organization hosts a spaghetti dinner on Friday at 7 pm at St. Angelo’s Restaurant, 1235 Wampanoag Trail, Riverside, to raise funds to help send the Pee Wee team to the national championships at Disney World. In honor of National Novel Writing Month, The Friends of the Barrington Public Library are bringing two local authors to speak about tips and tricks to writing and publishing your book. The first author visit is Saturday from 2 to 4 pm. Michael Squatrito of Tiverton and the author of “The Overlords” fantasy adventure series will talk about all facets of creating your novel, including character creation, plot points, self-marketing, eBooks, and social networking. A Q&A session and book signing will follow the talk.

The Barrington Baptist Church, 25 Old County Road, hosts a fundraiser for the victims of Typhoon Yolanda in the Philippines on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 2 pm. Enjoy Authentic Philippine food and dessert. Monetary donations of any amount will be accepted. All donations will go directly to The Children’s Shelter of Cebu in Cebu City Philippines.

Ballet Prestige in Barrington presents its first performance of the classic ballet, “The Nutcracker” on Sunday at 3 pm in the McCulloch Center for the Arts at St. Andrew’s School, 63 Federal Road. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for children.You can buy tickets online or at the door.
