Here are some things to do in and aroundΒ Barrington this weekend, Oct. 4-6.

The annualΒ Harvest StrollΒ hosted by theΒ Barrington Business AssociationΒ takes place on Saturday, Oct. 5, in front of the Town Hall. There will be food trucks, pumpkin carving, a hayride, and plenty of other activities for kids. You can also take a tour of the Barrington Town Hall as the 125th anniversary of its opening is celebrated.

Also, on Saturday,Β St. John's Episcopal Church hosts itsΒ annual "Pumpkin Junction Festival"Β featuring baked goods, rides and games for the kids, crafts, vendors, music by Barrington's own children's entertainerΒ Mark Whittaker and, of course...pumpkins!

TheΒ Hampden Meadows Volunteer Fire CompanyΒ holds its annual recruitmentΒ BBQΒ on Saturday at 1 pm. Learn all about volunteer and career opportunities as a firefighter at the 168 Sowams Road fire company. For more information, contact: Ron Pelletier at rphmvfc@yahoo.com

The BarringtonΒ Farmers Market continuesΒ on Saturday from 9 am to noon at Barrington Congregational Church on County Road. There are always new vendors on hand with seasonal produce, breads, pastries, meats and other home-grown goods. Among the usual vendors are New Urban Farmers in Pawtucket, Aquidneck Honey in Middletown, Providence Coffee Roasters in Providence, Nettie's Kettle Corn in North Providence, Oakdale Farm in Rehoboth, and Seven Stars Bakery in Providence and East Providence.Β

The Rhode Island Association of Admission Officers (RIAAO) will host its 37th annualΒ Regional College FairΒ on Sunday, Oct. 6, from 1 to 3 pm a Rhode Island College Recreation Center Field House, 600 Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Providence.Β Nearly 200 college representatives will attend.Β There also will be financial aid presentations at 1:30 and 2:30 pm.

The East Bay Coalition for the Homeless hosts its firstΒ East Bay 5KΒ on Sunday, Oct. 6, at Colt State Park in Bristol.Β  The scenic 5K and 1-mile walk courses wind through the park on the edge of the bay.Β Help families help themselves! Click here toΒ register. Β Β
