Joseph A. Lombardi, 84, Retired Deputy Fire Chief

His calling hours are today and his funeral is Tuesday from the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home in Riverside.

Joseph A.Β Lombardi, of Oak Grove Avenue, Barrington, a retired Barrington deputy fire chief, died peacefully on Saturday Nov. 2, 2013. He was 84.

He wasΒ the beloved husband of Ann S. (D’Allesandro) Lombardi.Β A lifelong resident of Barrington, he was the son of the late Rocco and Antonette (Olivia) Lombardi.Β 

Lombardi was a firefighter for the Barrington Fire Department for 34 years before retiring as deputy fire chief in 1989.Β HeΒ was a communicant of Holy Angels Church. He served in the Rhode Island National Guard for 10 years. A mechanic, he enjoyed restoring Corvettes.Β 

Besides his wife of 64 years, is survived by a son; Joseph A. Lombardi Jr. of Barrington, two daughters; Mary Ellen Souza of Dighton, MA and Kathleen Balasco of Barrington, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.Β 

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 5, from the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home,Β 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside, at 8:45 am with a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Angels Church, Maple Avenue, Barrington at 10 am. Burial will follow in Santa Maria del Campo Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday 4-7 pm.
