Take in Faculty Basketball Game; Learn to Write With Yoga

Here are some things to know about in and around Barrington.

Here are some things to know about today, Nov. 7, in Barrington:

  • Some rain early in the day and lingering into the afternoon with a high temperature around 60 degrees.
  • The first Barrington Middle School faculty basketball game take place at Barrington High School from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm.Β Admission is $5 and will be used to support local charities. Β There will also be games and halftime competition for students.
  • Use yoga to get past personal obstacles to the writing process at a workshop to be held in theΒ Barrington library from 6:30 to 8:30 PM -- led by actor, director, teacher and writer Kate Lohman and certified yoga teacher, writer and editor Aggie Stewart. Call the Reference Desk at 401-247-1920 x 2 to register.
  • The Barrington High School girls’ volleyball team plays at URI at 6 pm in a semifinal of the Rhode Island Interscholastic League’s Division II championship playoffs against Exeter-West Greenwich.
  • The open-gymΒ men’s basketball drop-in programΒ operated by the Barrington Recreation Department continues at the Barrington Middle School from 7 to 9 pm. Men 18 and older play every Thursday. Β
