Nancy F. Heidenreich, 78, Formerly of Barrington

She died in Ft. Myers, Fla., where she moved in 1987.

Nancy F. Heidenreich, formerly of Barrington, died in Ft. Myers, Fla., on Thursday, November 14, 2013, with her fiancé, Richard Trapp, and devoted friend Joe Stoernell nearby. She was 78.

Born in East. Providence to John W. and Frances King Fogarty, she was married to Thomas J. Flynn and raised their children, Debbie and Tommy, in Barrington. Throughout the summers, friends and family gathered for barbecues, annual clambakes, boating and skiing on the river, and Nancy and Tom making everyone feel at home. Although the winters were cold, her hospitality, and incredible cooking, kept the crowd in the kitchen year round.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Debra Flynn, devoted son-in-law Joel Gitelson, and granddaughter Sydney, of Lomita, CA. She came to visit every summer and winter. These were times filled with laughter, love and baking with "My Syd".

She is also survived by her son, Thomas J. Flynn of Dallas and loving grandson Ryan A. Flynn of Abilene, where Nancy and her late husband, Lee K. Heidenreich (deceased) formed their company, Lentex Petroleum. She enjoyed every aspect of the business in Texas, from the office to the oil fields.

She is also survived by her brother, “Ted” Joseph E. Fogarty, friend and sister-in-law, Linda Fogarty, step-mother Martina Fogarty and many nieces and nephews.

She moved to Florida in 1987. Prior to her illness, gardening had become her passion and swimming daily was her therapy. While fighting cancer, she became a strong advocate for her fellow patients. She was elected vice president of the residents committee and soon, “Everyone knew Nancy”.

She will be missed by everyone she touched, personally and professionally.
