Here are a few things you may want to know about today, Oct. 2, in and around Barrington:

Mostly sunny and summer-like with a high temperature near 81 degrees.
A 1 pm matinee showing of the Alfred Hitchcock classic, Psycho, opens the β€œThings That Go Bump in the Night” October film series at the Barrington library auditorium, with pre-film commentary by technical library and cinema buff Doug Swiszcz.Β 

The Ocean State Small Business Expo takes place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Warwick from 11 am to 7 pm. Titled β€œBusiness to Business,” the expo features more than 100 exhibitors, educational workshops designed to help small businesses grow and a Business-After-Hours cocktail reception to end the day. Admission is free with a business card.

The annual β€œPumpkin Junction” has opened on the front lawn ofΒ St. John’s Episcopal Church on County Road; it runs daily from noon to 6 pm with pumpkins for sale in all sizes and shapes.Β
