The state medical examiner and DEM are investigating.

BRISTOL, RI — State officials confirm a body was found in the waters north of Colt State Park. Gail Mastrati, spokeswoman for the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management, said a quahogger made the discovery Friday morning and alerted police. The body was spotted off Nayatt Point, Barrington and taken to a boat ramp at Colt State Park. The state medical examiner is investigating with DEM police and the Narragansett Bay Marine Task Force.

"With the investigation underway, we cannot comment further until an identification can be confirmed," Mastrati said.
