Bristol Man Struck by Car on Metacom Ave. Dies
Police said the 66-year-old victim was crossing Metacom Avenue near Minturn Farm Road when he was struck.
BRISTOL, RI—A 66-year-old Bristol man died after he was struck by a car on Metacom Avenue on Thursday night.
Bristol police said John DeMedeiros was crossing Metacom Avenue near Minturn Farm Road when he was struck by a car traveling south at around 7:30 p.m.
The driver, a 71-year-old Bristol woman, does not appear to have been speeding, police said.
DeMedeiros was treated at the scene and transported to Rhode Island Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Police are investigating.
