Here are some things to know about this week, Nov. 11-12, in and around Bristol and Warren:
Bristol and Warren veterans host ceremonies to recognize all veterans today, Nov. 11, Veterans Day. Bristol’s ceremony takes place at the RI Veterans Home off Metacom Avenue. Warren’s ceremony takes place at the Town Common between State and Church streets.
Roger Williams University welcomes jazz legend Freddy Cole and his quartet for an intimate and free performance on Wednesday with saxophonist Harry Allen, a virtuoso jazz musician in his own right, who grew up in Burrillville.The concert starts at 7:30 pm in Global Heritage Hall on the campus at One Old Ferry Road.

The East Bay Chamber of Commerce, 16 Cutler St., hosts a Holiday Shopping and Professional Services Fair on Tuesday, Nov. 12, starting at 4 pm. Local vendors will offer tables filled with products and services to give you a head start on holiday shopping. Or just come to mingle.
The Roger Williams University School of Law presents a two-day conference on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 15-16, on “The ERA in the 21st Century: Where Have We Come From, and Where Will We Go?” It runs from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m on Friday and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. The Baptist Church in Warren holds its 250th anniversary celebration this weekend, Nov. 15-17, with a variety of events, including a mission speaker and lasagna dinner on Friday at 6 pm, the art of “gravestone rubbing” at the North Burial Ground on Saturday at 10 am, and a colonial breakfast on Sunday at 10 am.
First Congregational Church in Bristol holds its 84th annual Harvest Moon bazaar on Saturday from 10 am to 3 pm with proceeds to go to direct community aid. The event features a Silent Auction, bakery, quilt raffle, hand stitched items, jams, Attic Treasures, floral arrangements, and gift items from various vendors. The luncheon features Lobster Rolls, chili, soups an desserts. Admission is free.
