Sebastian 'Sabby' Dias Jr., 82, Retired Dahl Corp. Foreman

His calling hours are today and his funeral service is Monday, Dec. 30, from the Sansone Funeral Home in Bristol.

Sebastian "Sabby" Dias Jr., of Bristol, died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013 at the home of his daughter, surrounded by his family. He was 82.

He was the loving husband of Angelina "Angie" (Carlone) Dias, his wife of 57 years. Born in Bristol, he was a lifelong resident, a son of the late Sebastian and Mary (Piedade) Dias.

"Sabby" was a supervisor and foreman for GH Dahl Corporation in Bristol for many years. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth's Church. He served in the Army and the RI National Guard for 42 years, and was a member of the Bristol Train of Artillery, Cup Defenders Association, 21 Mens Club, and Guards of Thunder.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Alan R. Dias of Bristol; three daughters, Luann Dias of Riverside, Donna Marie Bouchard and Elaine Ward, both of Bristol, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, two sisters, Rose Selley of Bristol and Linda Richer of Coventry. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Domenic, William and Freeman Dias and two sisters, Mary and Helen Dias.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 30, at 8 am from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood Street, Bristol, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am in St. Elizabeth's Church, 577 Wood Street, Bristol. Burial with Military Honors will follow in North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol.

Visiting hours are today, Dec. 29, from 4 to 8 pm.
