For the return to its 2012-13 performance schedule, the Stone Church Coffeehouse is scheduled to host Pendragon on Saturday night at 7:30.
The monthly folk showcase ā located at the First Congregational Church ā took December off, and the kick-off show for 2013 features one of the biggest names in the local scene, explained Coffeehouse Director Roger Dubord.

"They're probably the premiere Celtic band in southern New England," Dubord noted. "They've been playing to gether for 30 years now ā they're great."
Named Rhode Island's Best Celtic Act by Motif Magazine from 2005-11, Pendragon has a big following in the area and includes fiddle, flute, bouzouki, concertina, banjo, guitar, whistle and percussion in its arrangements.

"We average about 50 and 60 [attendees] per show, and we hope the Pendragon show will bring over 100 ā and they've cut back a little bit on their shows, so this will be a bit of a novelty," Dubord said.
And where most of the Coffeehouse performances are held in the church community room, Pendragon will be taking over the main part of the building, Dubord added.
"This one's [going to be held] in the sactuary, because it's more condusive to that kind of band," explained Dubord, adding that step-dancer Kevin Doyle will also have enough room for his high-energy performance.
Tickets are $15 general admission, $7.50 for students, and free for kids under 5.
"We try to make it affordable, so it's a good night out and it introduces people to the church, it's just a beautiful old church," Dubord noted. "Whatever profit we make goes back to the church in their general fund. The other benefit is to bring people there to listen to good music and have a good night out ā it's a family-oriented venue."
Doors open at 6:45 pm, with the performance set to start at 7:30 pm. Find more information at the Stone Church Coffeehouse website.
