Warren Man Charged With Breaking Into 3 Apartments

Kickemuit Road man admitted to the burglaries, according to the Warren police.

A Warren man faces three burglary charges and a separate charge of stealing a firearm. 

Edward A. Botelho, 32, of 72 Kickemuit Road, allegedly broke into three apartments in the complex his girlfriend lives, according to Warren police. Among the items he allegedly stole is a 9 mm handgun. 

Botelho was charged last Wednesday, Oct. 29. He admitted to breaking into all of the apartments, said Warren Police Lt. Roland Brule.

Botelho also stole some video games that were traced to a retail store to be resold, Brule said. He was identified as a suspect in the thefts by other residents who saw him leaving the apartment complex with some of the stolen merchandise.

Police searched his girlfriend’s apartment with her consent, Brule said. They found some of the stolen items there.

Botelho also was charged with vandalism and malicious injury to property for breaking down one of the doors to an apartment he admitted burglarizing, Brule said. He was sent to the Adult Correctional Institutions to await his date in Sixth District Court.
