Warren Police Log: Traffic Stops, Swan on Land, Swansea Bank Heist

The Warren Police Department reported the following arrests and incidents this week:

Arrested:

• Chelsea Medeiros, 19, of 36 Washington St., Bristol, on a charge of driving with a suspended license, following a stop on Metacom Avenue on Jan. 22 at about 4:30 pm. She is scheduled for arraignment in Sixth District Court, Providence, on Feb. 1.
• Leonard H. Allen, 31, of 126 Water St., on a charge of driving with a suspended license, following a traffic stop at Child Street and Central Street, on Jan. 24 at about 8 pm. He is scheduled for arraignment in Sixth District Court on Feb. 1.
• Stephen Roccabello, 42, of 57 Vernon St., on a charge of driving with a suspended license, following a traffic stop on Vernon Street, on Jan. 25 at about 11:30 am.
• Kyle Laferriere, 21, of 4 Orchard Ave., Barrington, on a charge of driving without a license, following a stop on Everett Street, on Jan. 26 at about 2 am. 

Other reports:

• A caller reported seeing a swan in the driveway of a home on Market Street on Jan. 21 at about 8 am. An animal control officer released the swan into Jamiel's Park.
• Following a call for a woman causing damage inside the residence, officers dispersed a female from a home on Canario Drive on Jan. 21 at about 10:30 am.
• Officers responded to an incident of two females fighting in the roadway on Market Street on Jan. 21 at 2 pm. Both were removed from the scene.
• A car crash on Jan. 21 at about 5 pm knocked down a utility pole and caused the wires to hang onto Market Street, causing a detour of traffic through the parking lots of Lucky Bait and Glacier Ice. National Grid responded just before 6 pm to make repairs.
• Swansea Police issued a BOLO [be on the look out] notice for the suspect in a bank robbery on Jan. 22. Warren Police noted receipt of the notice at about 10:30 am. According to Rhode Island's Most Wanted, the man entered St. Anne's Credit Union in Swansea, MA, and presented a note to a teller, then left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash. • Officers responding to a report of an unoccupied vehicle on Main Street on Jan. 23 at about 10 am found that the car was disabled. The car was moved to the side of the road to await repair.
• Following a call for a disturbance on Jan. 26 at about 1:15 am, officers responded to Company Street and found an apparently intoxicated man outside. Officers dispersed him from the scene.
• On Jan. 26 at about 1:45 am, officers responded to Fat Belly's on Metacom Avenue to remind the staff about town ordinances governing closing times after finding employees still cleaning the restaurant.
• Responding to a call of a suspicious person on Water Street on Jan. 27 at about 11:30 am, officers found a man sitting by the water using a ham radio and asked him to leave the location.
