Career Center Students Donate Time, Skills to Community Service Opportunities

Students from various programs at the Regional Career & Technical Center put the skills they've learned to good work by taking part in a number of community service projects.

This year, students from the Regional Career & Technical Center at Coventry High School have donated their time to various community outreach projects to benefit both local and national causes.

In October, Graphic Communication students designed and printed breast cancer awareness tee shirts which were sold during lunch periods. More than $1,000 was raised and donated to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer during the fundraiser, themed "Keep Calm, Stay Strong and Fight On".

Culinary Arts students in November prepared, cooked and packaged more than 200 Thanksgiving turkey dinners which were delivered to homebound senior residents within the community.
