CCFD Court Hearing: Today, Nov. 1 at 9:30 a.m. a hearing for the Central Coventry Fire District will be held at Kent County Superior Court (222 Quaker Ln., Warwick). The Court will hear various motions in regards to the CCFD Board of Directors' recommendation to liquidate the fire district.

CPL Book Sale: From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Saturday, Nov. 1-2, the Friends of the Coventry Public Library will hold its Semiannual Book Sale in Town Council Chambers at Coventry Town Hall. Gently used books, tapes, puzzles, and other great finds will be available for purchase at reasonable prices.
Community Flu Clinic: From 1:30-2:30 p.m. this afternoon, South County Hospital will host a local flu vaccination clinic at Seaside Casual/Arnold Lumber, located at 11 Industrial Drive in Coventry. Vaccinations will be available to individuals age 19 and older. Those with health insurance must bring proof of coverage. Click here for insurance and payment information.

Toddler Stories and Songs in Greene: The Greene Public Library, located at 179 Hopkins Hollow Road, Greene, will host Toddlers, Tunes & Tales today and each Friday morning from 10-10:30 a.m. The program is intended for children ages 1-3 accompanied by a parent or caregiver and will feature songs, movement and a fun story. Call (401) 397.3873 to register.
Tomorrow - Volunteers Needed: Looking for a community service opportunity or just a chance to lend a hand to a great local cause? If so, consider volunteering a few hours of your time on the morning of Saturday, Nov. 2 to perform some much needed yard work. The General Nathanael Greene Homestead Association is requesting volunteers for 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 2 to help continue clearing the overgrown field below the Homestead. Volunteers began the task in August, but there is still much work to be done.Click here to learn more about the project and how you can help!
