Coventry Man Indicted on Sexual Assault Charge

On Nov. 7, 2012, the Statewide Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Derek Wilson, 41, of 7 Englewood Rd., Coventry, with one count of first degree sexual assault.

It is alleged that on or about July 30, 2012, Wilson, an employee at the Trudeau Center in Warwick, sexually assaulted a developmentally delayed individual, with the assault being in the first degree. 

The incident was investigated by the Warwick Police. Wilson was arrested on a warrant on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012 and arraigned the following day before Superior Court Magistrate Susan L. Kenny. Wilson was ordered held without bail. 

The next scheduled court date is Nov. 14, 2012 for a determination of attorney.
