CPD Safety Seat Installation Event Today (and 4 More Things)

    CPD Safety Event:  The Coventry Police Department will host a free Child Seat Installation and Kids Workshop today from 12-3 p.m. at Walgreens, located at 875 Tiogue Avenue.

    Youth Crochet Class: From 4-5 p.m. today, Nov. 14 and Nov. 21, Greene Library (79 Hopkins Hollow Rd., Greene) will offer basic crochet lessons for youths, grades 5 and above. Join Miss Charlotte in this free 3-week workshop, during which she will help participants get started on their own projects. Children can bring their own yarn or share the Library's, but must bring a 6.0mm crochet hook to each lesson.     Elks Fall Pitch Card League: The Coventry-West Greenwich Elks Lodge (42 Nooseneck Hill Rd., West Greenwich) will host its Fall Pitch (Hi-Lo-Jack) Card League tonight and each Thursday at 7 p.m. Cost is $5 per person per week. All adults welcome. At the end of the season, prizes will be handed out at an Awards Dinner. For more information, call Denise at 226-5053.

    Community Garden Help: The Coventry Community Garden, organized and overseen by longtime resident Gail Tatangelo, is in great need of volunteers to assist with fall cleanup. Volunteers are currently needed to help spread fertilizer, remove stones from old garden beds, and plant a winter crop of oats. If you're interested in volunteering time to the garden that provides healthy food to Coventry residents in need, email Gail at gail660@verizon.net. Feel free to stop by the garden across from Town Hall to lend a hand this week, starting at 9:30 a.m.

    Tomorrow - CPEF Comedy Night: At 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8, the Coventry Public Education Foundation will host its 2nd Annual Dinner and Comedy Night at the Coventry-West Greenwich Elks Lodge (42 Nooseneck Hill Rd., West Greenwich). This year's feature comedians are Scott Higgins, Christine Hurley and Derrick Fonseca. Tickets are $40 each and proceeds will benefit the Coventry School District. This is an 18+ show.
