Monday Essentials: Dog Park Planning, Hungry for Change and More
Today is Monday, Sept. 30, 2013 and here are some things to know about the week ahead.

Dog Park Meeting: The next meeting of the Coventry Dog Park Association will take place at 6 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 3 in the Ocean State Veterinary Specialists conference room (1480 South County Trl., East Greenwich). Fundraising subcommittees will be formed and two upcoming events will be finalized. Click here for the latest Coventry Dog Park updates.
Hungry for Change at NEFA: From 7-8:30 p.m. beginning Tuesday, Oct. 1 and each Tuesday through Oct. 15, New England Farm and Artist (NEFA), (1112 Main Street), is offering "Hungry for Change: Food, Ethics and Sustainability" - a discussion course developed by the Northwest Earth Institute (NWEI). Course books developed by NWEI are available at NEFA for $25, however public copies to share are also available at the shop. CCFD Board Meeting: Members of the Central Coventry Fire District Board of Directors will meet at 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening in the Town Hall Annex auditorium (1675 Flat River Road) to discuss district business including updates regarding the upcoming CCFD Annual Financial Meeting scheduled for Oct. 21. Elks Fall Pitch Card League: The Coventry-West Greenwich Elks Lodge (42 Nooseneck Hill Rd., West Greenwich) will host its Fall Pitch (Hi-Lo-Jack) Card League tonight and each Thursday at 7 p.m. Cost is $5 per person per week. All adults welcome. At the end of the season, prizes will be handed out at an Awards Dinner. For more information, call Denise at 226-5053.
CCFD Court Hearing: At 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 4, a status hearing for the Central Coventry Fire District will be held at Kent County Superior Court (222 Quaker Ln., Warwick). In addition to the Court’s decisions on various pending matters on October 4, 2013, the Court will also hear a status report update from the Central Coventry Fire District Board of Directors.
