On Wednesday morning, the entire student body at Tiogue Elementary School gathered in the gymnasium to recognize two important members of their school community.

Kerri and Ed Bove, chairpersons of the school's Playground Committee, were honored during Wednesday's ceremony for volunteering their time over the past four years to plan and lead fundraisers to support the beautification and purchase of new playground equipment.

According to Principal Louise Seitsinger, the Boves, along with fellow committee members many parent and family volunteers, helped the school purchase and install the new equipment that has proven to be a big hit with students.

During the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Bove told students that the playground equipment and the beautifications for the playground are a "gift of love".

Seitsinger presented the couple with a plaque to be placed on one of the playground's large planter boxes that reads: ""In recognition of Kerri and Ed Bove for all of their playground contributions and their dedication to the children of Tiogue. November, 2013"

"The children expressed their gratitude today and shared how much they are enjoying the equipment," she said. "Their smiles and applause said it all."
