Winter Storm Headed Towards Coventry: What To Know
The forecast calls for up to two feet of snow, and Gov. Dan McKee urged Rhode Islanders to stay home and off the roads.

COVENTRY, RI — A winter storm is headed towards southern New England, and is expected to bring up to two feet of snow to Rhode Island.
The storm is expected to arrive overnight, with up to four inches of accumulation by Saturday morning. Heavy snow will continue throughout the day Saturday and continue until about 10 p.m., leaving 18 to 24 inches of accumulation statewide.

In Coventry, a parking ban went into effect at noon Friday and will continue until 6 a.m. Sunday.

The Public Works Department reminded residents that curb-to-curb cleaning is not completed until the end of the storm. The department asked residents not to call to ask about their curb or the end of their driveway during the storm. Anyone who works in the medical field and needs to get to work or needs to get out for an emergency reason can call the department's on-call dispatcher or email mpage@coventryri.org. Please only reach out in case of emergency.
Coventry residents can help plows do their job by pulling all trash and recycling carts away from the street, along with basketball hoops or either items that block the street. The department also asked residents not to blow snow into the street from driveways.
