EG Resident Elected Syracuse Student President


Alexandra Curtis, a resident of East Greenwich, Rhode Island, was sowrn in as President of the Student Association at Syracuse University in New York, on Jan. 18, 2013.Β 

β€œI’m just so honored to be able to serve in this position. This has been my dream ever since I came to Syracuse University,” Curtis said. β€œI am looking forward to serving the students as their president."

Curtis, a junior, is double-majoring in Political Science and Public Relations at Syracuse. She has been active in the Student Association her first three years and served for the past year as vice-president.

β€œI have had a wonderful experience at Syracuse,” said Curtis, β€œI have made many friends here, including fellow students from East Greenwich.”

Curtis also represented East Greenwich as β€œMiss Rhode Island” in the National American Miss Pageant in Anaheim, Calif., in November, finishing fourth runner-up.

Alexandra is the daughter of Mark and Kathi Curtis of East Greenwich.
