Cole Drama to presents Roald Dahl's "Willy Wonka, Jr"

Come see the Cole kids perform Roald Dahl’s ”Willy Wonka, Jr!”

Roald Dahl’s beloved children’s book, “Charlie and The Chocolate Factory,” was first released in 1964 and achieved phenomenal success all over the world. In 1971 the film version starring Gene Wilder and a 2005 version starring Johnny Depp have also enthralled generations of chocolate factory fans. Don’t miss this opportunity to see the theatrical version of Dahl’s zany tale that is known to touch the young at heart.

Thirty nine Cole Middle School students have been rehearsing since the beginning of February to bring this classic tale to life with their singing acting and dancing. Fifty more students are working on the crew, assisting with technical aspects of the show and creation of; sets, props, costumes, hair and makeup. The students have been noted in local media for their professional quality performances including, Annie Jr., Alice and Wonderland Jr. and two sellout performances of The Little Mermaid Jr.

The junior version of Willy Wonka runs just over an hour and is the perfect length for young theatre goers. Performances are at East Greenwich High School, Friday April 10 at 7:00 pm and Saturday, April 11 at 4:00 pm. Tickets are ten dollars at the door.
