Deutsch, Lifelong EG Native, Announces Town Council Run
"To say that I have a vested interest in the Town would be an understatement," said Andy Deutsch.

EAST GREENWICH, RIβA political newcomer but no stranger to local politics, Andy Deutsch, has filed paperwork to seek a seat on the East Greenwich Town Council.
Deutsch, 30, is a lifelong East Greenwich resident and counts among his blessings the chance to attend East Greenwich High School and to give his daughter Anna the opportunity to do the same, in 2032.
The school is where the account executive for Cox Communications met his partner, Amanda, who took the same B-period math class.

A member of the Board of Directors for the East Greenwich Chamber of Commerce, Deutsch said he has insight into the goings-on in the small business community and the town's ongoing economic development efforts.
"I have enjoyed working to better East Greenwich as a place to live, work, play and do business. I am excited for the opportunity to help continue the economic and community development of this Town which I adore in this new position."
Though he has not served in elected office before, Deutsch got a first-hand look at what it takes to win a campaign and serve honorably. His dad, Stephen R. Deutsch, served on the Town Council and as a senator and representative in the Rhode Island General Assembly.
βI was dropping literature in mailboxes at the age of 7 to save the Kent County Court House, which we all know now as our beautiful town hall.β Deutsch said.
He also has served as a volunteer for other campaigns, including former Governor Donald Carcieri, Ronald Machley and Rep. Daniel Reilly.
Deutsch is endorsed by the local Republican Town Committee. He said he wants to build upon the "success and tradition" of the previous Town Councils and "my passion and lifelong devotion to the Town of East Greenwich gives me the drive and motivation to help this town, now and for the future.β
