Norm James is not impressed.
"I'm 87 years old. I've never seen anything so stupid," he said Tuesday afternoon about the impasse in Congress that's shut down the federal government.
"I think this country's in real serious trouble. We just can't seem to have Congress agree or cooperate with each other. I think it's all politics on both sides. I wouldn't take either, Republican or Democrat," said James.
At the dining room of EG Senior Center, meal companions had very differing views.
"The problem is the Democrats. They caused this shutdown and they want the Republicans to be blamed for this," said Charlotte Dumas.
"I blame the voters really for picking the wrong people," said John Bougaize. "We've got to get more liberal-minded people there who can talk to each other."
Gene Dumas, Charlotte's son, who volunteers at the Senior Center, said, "Enough talking points on both sides. Get down to business."
"It's ridiculous, just ridiculous," said a woman leaving CVS pharmacy. "They're like children in school."
