Antonio Mancinho, 97, passed away Wednesday, October 3. He was the husband of the late Rita (Gorton) Mancinho. Born in West Warwick, he was the son of the late Antonio and Estrella (Furtado) Mancinho.
Employed at Kaiser Shipyard in Providence, he then moved on to General Dynamics in Groton, Conn., where he worked as a pipe welder. He worked on the first nuclear submarine, the Nautilus. He retired after 29 years.
He is survived by his son Stephen and daughters Anita and Marie Palazzo and her husband Antonio; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and 3 siblings. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 9:00am at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third St., East Greenwich. Burial will be in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Coventry. Calling hours: Sunday 4-6pm at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich.
