Teen Center Provides Place To Go Fridays

Your guide for life in East Greenwich today, Sept. 6.

Trash pickup delayed: Because of the Labor Day holiday yesterday, trash pickup is delayed a day all week, so if your trash is usually picked up on Friday, it will be picked up on Saturday this week.

Goddard Park Farmers Market: The market at Goddard Park is back. It’s a great way to get ready for the weekend. Off Ives Road, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Teen Center: The Teen Center has provided a great place to hang out on Friday evenings for decades now. They meet at the gym at Eldredge School but you don’t have to play basketball to enjoy the camaraderie. From 6 to 8 p.m.

Avenger Home Action: The Girls Varsity Tennis team takes on SKHS at 3:30 p.m.; Girls Soccer plays Barrington – JV at 4 p.m. and Varsity at 6; Girls Volleyball meets Pilgrim – JV at 4:45 p.m. and Varsity at 6:30. Mums the Word: The EG Rotary Club is holding a new fundraiser to support its community service donations– mums! They will be selling mums during the first weekend in September.  The plants will be on sale Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at United Methodist Church, South County Trail; Phipps Realty, 427 Main St.; Coldwell Banker, Main Street; and Staci's Place, 99 Main St.
