Cicilline Hosts Social Security Forum in East Providence Tuesday

Congressman David N. Cicilline will be joined by Congressman John Larson of Connecticut for a discussion at Rumford Towers on Tuesday.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI—Just as the 81st anniversary of Franklin D. Roosevelt's signing of the Social Security Act into law is being celebrated, U.S. Congressman David N. Cicilline will host a discussion about Social Security with retirees and seniors in East Providence on Tuesday.

Cicilline will be joined by U.S. Congressman John Larson in the community room at Rumford Towers, 95 Newman Ave., at 3:30 p.m.

The public is welcome to the meeting during which both congressmen will talk about their bills to expand benefits and cut taxes for many seniors. The plan, according to a Cicilline news release, is to "ensure Social Security remains solvent through the end of the century."
