
Freaky 5K - Combine costumes and cardio Sunday, 10 a.m., at the Rumford Fire station as either a participant or spectator for the Freaky 5K, with proceeds from registration funding the East Providence Firefighters Community Fund.
Registration is $25 on race day.

Holiday trash schedule - All household refuse and yard waste collections this week will be delayed one day for the reminder of the week. Regularly Monday collections will be Tuesday, Oct. 15, Tuesday will be Wednesday, Wednesday will be Thursday, Thursday will be Friday and Friday will be collected on Saturday.
Foster Care Info Night - The Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth and Families and Foster Forward are hosting a Foster Care and Adoption Information Night Thursday, Oct. 17, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Foster Forward, 55 South Brow St., East Providence. DCYF staff, foster, and adoptive parents will be available to explain the program and answer questions. The Information Night is open to anyone interested in exploring becoming a foster or adoptive parent for children in DCYF care.
