RI Woman Wins Super Bowl Tickets From Lottery, Gives Them To Son

The winner's son has never been to Las Vegas and said he'll do a little gambling, check out the sites and of course enjoy the Super Bowl.

EAST PROVIDENCE, RI — A Rumford woman has won a trip to the Super Bowl in Las Vegas in the Rhode Island Lottery's Patriots Second Chance drawing.

The winner told lottery officials she is an avid New England Patriots fan. She even has a Patriots license plate and has won prizes in this instant game before.

But while she has won Patriots suite tickets and merchandise second chance prizes in the past, she never anticipated winning the "Big Game Prize" and is gifting the four-night trip to her son and his friend, lottery officials said.

Her son has never been to Las Vegas and said he’ll do a little gambling, check out the sites and of course enjoy the Super Bowl on Sunday between the Kansas Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers. His mother will enjoy the $1,000 spending money that was included in the prize.

"We are thrilled for the trip-goers and the incredible experience that awaits them," Rhode Island Lottery Director Mark Furcolo said. "We aim to provide not only entertaining games and cash prizes, but also experiences that can be remembered for a lifetime."
