Alleged Drunk Man Injured After Accident

The incident was reported by the Middletown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Middletown Police charged a 41-year-old Fall River man for driving under the influence after he allegedly crashed into a telephone pole on West Main Road early Saturday morning. Police said Dylan Perosino of 390 Center St. Apt 1, Fall River, cracked his chest bone and broke six ribs in the accident.

The car had heavy front-end damage and a deployed airbag, according to police. A witness said after the accident, Perosino stumbled out of the car into the road. When police arrived, Perosino was in the passenger seat and complained of severe chest pains. Police said he smelled of alcohol and his eyes were bloodshot. At Rhode Island hospital, doctors said he cracked his chest bone and broke six ribs.

He was also cited with refusal to submit to a chemical test and a driving violation.
