Middletown Ranked One of Safest RI Communities

Middletown is ranked one of the state's safest communities, according to analysis conducted by golocalprov.com. The study used 2012 crime statistics released by the FBI earlier this week. 

Out of thirty-seven Rhode Island communities that report crime data to the FBI, Middletown ranked #30. Of the 6 violent crimes reported in Middletown for the year, there was 3 robberies and 3 aggravated assaults. No rapes or murders were reported during that time period.  

Nationally, the number of violent crimes increased 0.7 percent over the previous year, according to the data.
