Police Arrest Three After Traffic Stop, Find Crack Cocaine in Car

Middletown police found crack cocaine and arrested everyone in the car after officers made a traffic stop on Sunday around 9:00 p.m. The car was pulled over on West Main Road because its registration sticker was not visible, said police.

The driver, Steven Meo, 26, of 51 Chestnut Hill, Cranston, reportedly had track marks on his arm and admitted he injected himself with heroin earlier that day. Meo said a Suboxone packet belonged to him, which helped him with the heroin, said police. The drug is often prescribed for opioid dependence, although Meo reportedly said he did not have a prescription.

The passenger, Frank Viera, 44, of an unknown address in Pawtucket initially told police his name was Frank Darosa. He later told police he did not want Meo to know his real name. Police found a bag with crack cocaine underneath the front seat where Viera was sitting. Viera allegedly denied the drugs belonged to him.

The third passenger, Alicia Darosa, 29, of 50 Jefferson Ave., Pawtucket, was arrested on an active bench warrant and a violation of no contact order that was active with Viera. Viera was charged with an active bench warrant and felony possession of drugs. Meo was charged with felony possession of drugs.
