It's only Tuesday, but there are five different government meetings today – how appropriate for this column!

Here are the (more than) Five Things for Tuesday, January 8, 2013:

Has the time or date or details of one of your events changed? If you posted the event yourself on our site, then remember – You can always change the details if you’re logged into your Patch account. Failing that, leave a comment on the item in question! The issue is that lately, people have been e-mailing me, and depending on the time of the day, it can take me anywhere from 30 minutes or 30 hours to get to the item, unfortunately. As a result, I encourage you all to be as proactive as possible!

Oh no! Maybe there seriously aren’t that many events today, given that German astronomer Johannes Fabricius was born in 1587. As a result, our events calendar for today is a bit barren. If you’re having an event, please let us know in the comments. Also, make sure it isn’t left out in the future – Submit it via this link (as long as you’re logged into your Patch account).

So basically, people were happy for a hot minute. On this day in 1835, the United States’ national debt was zero for the only time, at least according to Wikipedia.

You will always have The Wizard – they can never take that away from you. Happy 37th birthday to Jenny Lewis, the front woman of Rilo Kiley. However, she will always be more prominent in my mind for The Wizard, where she played a redheaded semi-street urchin tagging along with Fred Savage and his autistic little brother as they hitchhiked to a video game tournament in Los Angeles.
