RHODE ISLAND — If you're dreaming of a White Christmas in Rhode Island, your chances are looking pretty slim. According to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service, there's little to no chance of snow falling over the next week.

According to NWS's historical probability map, there's only about a 25 percent chance of a "white Christmas," meaning there is at least one inch of snow on the ground on Christmas Day. Along Rhode Island's southern coast and East Bay, there's even less of a chance.

That projection matches those of the Farmers' Almanac and Accuweather. Both also predicted that the chances of snow on the ground for Christmas are low.

Following this weekend's unseasonably warm, windy weather, expect seasonably brisk temperatures in Rhode Island, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid-40s to 50s.
