Jerusalem Beach Cottage Sells for $832,500

A 942-square-foot beach cottage in Jerusalem sold last week for $832,500, according to the statewide Multiple Listing Service.

The cottage, located at 14 Percy Lane, was listed by Randall Realtors and originally had an asking price of $919,000.

The cottage was built in 1940 and has two floors, five bedrooms and seven rooms in all.

This is a “quintessential” beach cottage, according to its spot-on listing description. Think: bottle gas space heating, a septic system and a very cozy kitchen. You get laminate floors here, wall-to-wall carpeting there, and things are a little rustic though thankfully, the paneled walls have been painted white to give a fresh appearance.

But for the money, the house isn’t so much the value here than the land, which is literally in the dunes at one of Rhode Island’s best beaches.
