Narragansett Man Charged With Dealing Cocaine

Unless otherwise noted, information about the following incidents was supplied by the South Kingstown Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Timothy Doyle Cullen, 33, of 6 Rockland St., Apt. A, Narragansett, was arrested at about 5:08 p.m. on Nov. 29 and charged with four felony counts of distribution and one felony count of possession of a narcotic.

According to police, they received information from an informant during the week of Nov. 25 that Cullen was selling cocaine, heroin, Percocets and marijuana from the parking lot of Belmont Market and Starbuck’s.

As a result, police said three controlled buys were setup on Nov. 25, Nov. 28 and Nov. 29. On each occasion, police said Cullen provided either an undercover officer or an informant with grams of cocaine or Oxycodone.

Cullen told police that the pills came from a fake prescription, which was filled at Rite Aid. Police said this aspect of the case was still under investigation.

According to police, they arranged for an arrest of Cullen after the third controlled buy, which was on Nov. 29 near Sweenor’s Chocolates. At the time, Cullen allegedly provided police with six pills for $120.

Shortly after the transaction, Cullen was arrested without incident. A status conference is scheduled for the case on Dec. 5, followed by felony screening on an. 15. Cullen is being held without bail.

According to online records, Cullen has several previous arrests:

• In September 2004, Cullen pleaded no contest to two charges of domestic felony assault. He was ordered to complete 100 hours of community service, to pay a fine, and to complete five years probation and a five-year suspended sentence.
• Cullen has other arrests for driving a motor vehicle without the consent of the owner and domestic disorderly conduct, but the charges were dismissed. The arrests took place between 1999 and 2010.
