Narragansett Police Log: December 12 and 13, 2012

Loud Party Broken Up on Baltimore Avenue

At about 12:38 a.m. on Dec. 12, police received a report of a loud party at 85 Baltimore Avenue.

According to police, about eight to 10 people were talking loud on an east-facing deck, with an additional 25 to 35 people inside the home. Police said about six cars were illegally parked on the road, making it one-lane only.

The tenants were identified as Justin J. Cardoza, 22, and Salman A. Parvez and Courtney Margossian, 21. The party was cleared slowly but without incident, police said.

Man Claims Money from Stolen Lobsters Used to Pay Drug Dealers

At about 5:09 p.m. on Dec. 13, police received a complaint of a man arguing over missing lobsters purchased a month ago at Stop and Shop.

According to police, when they arrived at Stop and Shop, a 42-year-old man was arguing with a store employee about missing two lobsters from an order of four that he purchased a month ago.

Police said that when speaking to the man, he smelled of alcohol. He couldn’t provide store employees or police with a receipt.

According to police, at this time employees and a manager on-site just asked police to escort the man off the property, which they did.

However, police said that from 6:54 p.m. to 9 p.m., store employees complained several times of the man calling employees in the meat department to complain. The employees said they knew it was the man because he also complained of being thrown out of the store earlier in the night.

Police said the employees told them that the man demanded over the phone that a 19-year-old worker provide him for $30 for the missing lobsters. He also told the 19-year-old that he would be waiting for him outside the store when his shift was over.

According to police, they contacted the man and told him a no-trespass order had been issued as a result of the employees’ statements.

While police spoke to the man, he told them that he had spoken to his lawyer and was filing formal complaints against Stop and Shop, and the Narragansett Police Department, for escorting him out earlier. He also claimed that the two stolen lobsters were then sold for drug money.

Police told the man that further contact with Stop and Shop would violate his no-trespass order, and advised him to make further contact via his lawyer. No arrests were made.
