Narragansett Police Log: November 12, 13 and 14, 2012

Police make two minor arrests, and also catch a stray cat.

Richmond Man Arrested for Warrant

Francis J. Glawson, 21, of 2 Bridge View Drive, Richmond, was arrested at about 5:43 p.m. on Nov. 14. Police said a warrant was issued for Glawson’s arrest after he failed to appear at a Narragansett Municipal Court hearing related to a public urination citation.

According to police, Rhode Island State Police arrested Glawson for the warrant. Narragansett police picked up Glawson from the Hope Valley Barracks.

Police said Glawson paid a $100 fine and he was issued a new court date, and then released at about 8:30 p.m.

URI Student Cited for Alcohol

Anthony Rivelli, 19, of Browning Hall at the University of Rhode Island, was cited at about 2:07 a.m. on Nov. 13 and charged with possession of alcohol by a minor.

According to police, an officer traveling on Knowlesway by Aspen Drive saw a man walking with a bottle in his hand. Police said that when the man noticed the squad car, he tried to hide the bottle in a pile of leaves.

Police said the man – Rivelli – was identified as a minor, and the bottle was Dr. McGillicuddy’s Liqueur. The bottle was confiscated, and Rivelli was cited.

Meow! Stray Cat Caught

At about 8:26 a.m. on Nov. 14, police received a report of a stray cat biting a 33-year-old Narragansett woman near the 1100-section of Point Judith Road.

According to police, an animal control officer laid a trap out for the cat, since the bite victim said the cat did not have a collar. The cat was described as an unneutered black and brown tiger with a white chest.

Police said that at 1:49 p.m., the victim called back and said the trap had caught the cat. Animal control officers, to monitor for signs of rabies, placed it into quarantine.
