Narragansett Man Charged With Drunken Driving (Again)

According to police, an officer saw a green Mercury Grand Marquis swerving on Point Judith Road near Foddering Farm Road. As a result, a traffic stop was made near Sunset Farm.

Police said that while speaking with Blainey, he smelled strongly of alcohol. When asked where he was coming from, he told police, “A big party.”

According to police, Blainey consented to field sobriety tests, which he failed. He was arrested without incident as a result. At police headquarters, he refused to submit to a chemical test.

Police said that while doing an inventory of Blainey’s car, two blue pills, later identified as Adderall, were found in the trunk. Blainey was told that if he didn’t provide a valid prescription, he could be charged with additional counts of felony drug possession. A family member of Blainey provided police with the prescription at about 2 p.m.

Blainey was held overnight for arraignment at Fourth Division District Court the morning of Oct. 17.

In July, Blainey was cited for fighting at George’s of Galilee during a box alarm that forced the evacuation of the restaurant.

According to online records, South Kingstown police charged Blainey with cyberstalking in September. A status conference is scheduled for Nov. 7 for that case, as well as Blainey’s Narragansett police charge of drunken driving second offense.

In December 2008, Blainey pleaded no contest to a South Kingstown police charge of drunken driving. He was ordered to pay a fine and restitution, to complete 10 hours of community service and six months probation, and to surrender his license for three months.
