Narragansett Police Log: October 21, 2012

Narragansett Woman Charged With Assault

Marion N. Sanchez, 22, of 354 South Pier Road, Apt. #204, Narragansett, was arrested at about 5:59 p.m. on Oct. 21 and charged with assault.

According to police, an officer was on the way to Sanchez’s apartment to monitor a custody exchange. However, police said that while en route, they received a report that Sanchez assaulted a woman.

Police said when they arrived, Sanchez was yelling at a 23-year-old woman sitting in the passenger seat of a car. Police noted the woman had a red scratch above and below her eye.

According to police, they interviewed the victim, and a family member of Sanchez. The victim told police that Sanchez became furious when she saw the victim in the car, opened the passenger door and hit her.

The family member told police that Sanchez had approached the door and opened it, yelling at the victim, but that she hadn’t seen Sanchez hit the victim.

Police said that based on the evidence on the scene, which included a broken pair of sunglasses, Sanchez was arrested and charged with assault. She was processed and then released at about 6:45 p.m.

According to police, when they released Sanchez, she told her family member not to provide police with a statement. As a result, police said the family member refused to cooperate further and left with Sanchez.

Party Broken Up on Algonquin Road

At about midnight on Oct. 21, police received a report of a loud party at 23 Algonquin Road.

According to police, about 60 to 70 people were at the party, with 10 to 12 outside yelling and talking loudly. Police noted that the crowd had swelled after they warned the tenants about the noise level 20 minutes prior.

Police said the house was cleared in a reasonable amount of time. The tenants were identified as Nicholas G. Carisio, 20, and Nicholas A. Morvan and Alexander P. Lustbader, 19.
