Narragansett Ranked Among Least Violent Communities in RI

Narragansett is ranked as one of the state's least violent communities, according to analysis conducted by golocalprov.com. The study used 2012 crime statistics released by the FBI earlier this week. 

Out of 37 Rhode Island communities that report crime data to the FBI, Narragansett was ranked at number 29 on the list. All of the six violent crimes reported in Narragansett for the year were listed as aggravated assaults. Other crimes considered in the study were murder/non-negligent manslaughter, forcible rape and robbery.

Nationally, the number of violent crimes increased 0.7 percent over the previous year, according to the data.
