SK Police Log: November 19, 2012

A South Kingstown man is charged with vandalism after police allegedly find graffiti.

South Kingstown Man Charged With Vandalism

Tyler H. Foley, 25, of 319 Gooseberry Road, South Kingstown, was arrested at about 5:51 p.m. on Nov. 19 and charged with vandalism.

According to police, they received a report of a man spray painting on the South Kingstown Water Tower property on Victoria Lane near Brousseau Park.

Police said that according to several witnesses, the man – later identified as Foley – had run from the scene when he was discovered. However, police noted that cans of spray paint and keys to a 2002 Honda Accord were left behind.

According to police, the keys had an automatic unlock device, and as a result, they were traced to a car left in the parking lot. The car was towed as a result, and police noted that when they went to the car owner’s residence, there were examples of graffiti on plywood.

Police said that after towing the car, Foley turned himself in to headquarters and said he had done the spray painting. Foley told police he was attempting to do street art.

According to a follow-up interview, the damage was estimated at about $500. Foley was processed and then released at about 6:29 p.m.

Narragansett Man Charged With Violating No-Contact Order

Seamus J. Martin, 30, of 7 Judith Ave., Narragansett, was arrested at about 9:14 a.m. on Nov. 19 and charged with violating a no-contact order.

According to police, a warrant was issued for Martin’s arrest on Nov. 3, based on an incident on Broad Rock Road with a 26-year-old South Kingstown woman. Martin turned himself in on Nov. 19.

Police said Martin was processed and then transferred to Fourth Division District Court for arraignment.
