South Kingstown Man Charged with DUI for Richmond Crash that Hospitalized Woman and Girl
A witness told police Connor J. Jalbert was speeding and entered the wrong lane of travel before the crash on Sunday.
RICHMOND, RI—A South Kingstown man is facing drunk driving charges in connection with a crash in Richmond on Sunday that sent a 75-year-old woman and an 8-year-old girl to the hospital.
Connor J. Jalbert, 20, of 9 Brook Farm Drive, was charged with driving under the influence resulting in serious bodily injury and refusing a chemical test. Police said in a news release that Jalbert struck the woman on Main Street near Billy Hill's Roadhouse.
A witness told police that Jalbert was driving recklessly before the crash and was speeding and entered the opposite lane.

The woman was still in the hospital being treated for rib, ankle, knee and shoulder fractures as a result of the crash, police said Wendesday. The girl was treated and released after suffering minor injuries.
Jalbert will be arraigned on June 23.
