Town Worker Finds Replica BB Gun

According to police, a highway department worker found a replica BB gun while cleaning an intersection. Narragansett police logs from March 11 and 12, 2013.

Narragansett Man Cited for License Violation

Brent R. Williams, 34, of 20 Tupelo Trail, Narragansett, was cited for driving with a suspended license at about 4:45 p.m. on March 11.

According to police, an officer traveling behind a tan Ford Taurus on Ocean Road noted it swerving. A check of the registration revealed that the plate came back to a black Chevrolet, not a Ford.

A traffic stop was made near Windemere Road as a result. Police said the driver – Williams – provided them with a temporary registration for the car, which had expired on Jan. 6.

Police said a check of Williams’ license revealed that it was suspended in October 2012 for traffic fines. He was cited for the license violation, and for operating an unregistered vehicle. The car was towed from the scene.

Highway Department Finds Replica BB Gun

At about 9:44 a.m. on March 12, police received a report of a Narragansett Highway Department worker finding a gun.

According to police, the worker said he had found the gun – identified as a Sig P226 X-Five .177 caliber Air Gun (BB) – while cleaning an intersection near Glocester and Bristol roads.

Police said the serial number was run with negative results. It was logged into an evidence locker as a result, and a report was forwarded to the detective division.
