URI Student Caught with LSD, Shrooms, DMT, Mescaline and More, Police Say

Nicholas Fay, 21, of South Kingstown, is facing charges after police seized a buffet of psychedelic drugs from his home Wednesday.

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, RI—A 20-year-old South Kingstown man and student at the University of Rhode Island is having a bad trip after police seized hallucingenic mushrooms, LSD, DMT, Mescaline and more than three ounces of marijuana from his house on Wednesday.

Now, Nicholas Fay, of 290 Biscuit City Road, is facing a felony charge of possession with intent to deliver after a South Kingstown police investigation brought officers to his door with a search warrant.

Fay was arraigned in Fourth Division District Court on Thursday and posted surety bail, police said.

Police said the investigation into Fay's activities is "ongoing" and "no further information will be released at this time," according to a statement.

Fay could face additional charges as the investigation continues.

The investigation is a joint effort between the URI and South Kingstown police departments.

Along with the drugs, police seized $1,615 cash during the raid.

Police reported the total amounts of each drug as follows (all numbers are approximations)

  • 5.65 ounces Psilocybin (hallucinogenic mushrooms)
  • 2.65 ounces of San Pedro Cactus (hallucinogen)
  • 26 grams of Mescaline (hallucinogen)
  • 11 grams of Dimethyltryptamine (DMT)
  • 5.5 grams of Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD)
  • 3.3 ounces of Marijuana
