NK College Honors, Graduations, Continued

Graduations

The following local residents graduated from Stonehill College: North Kingstown resident Andrew Esposito earned a Bachelor of Arts degree; Saunderstown resident Colin Gray earned a Bachelor of Arts degree; and North Kingstown resident Matthew McCormack earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree.

The following students were awarded degrees from Plymouth State University at their 142nd Commencement ceremony May 18: Jeffrey Blair of North Kingstown, RI, Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies, and Jenna Best of North Kingstown, RI, Master of Education in K-12 Education.

On a morning marked by wispy clouds in a blue sky, more than 21,000 people – graduates and their families and friends, including Alexandra Bartholet – braved gale force winds to celebrate the University of Delaware's 164th Commencement, held Saturday, May 25, at Delaware Stadium. Bartholet is from North Kingstown.

Julianne Elouadih of North Kingstown, graduated May 11 from Assumption College with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Joel Newbolt of North Kingstown, graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from RIT's College of Science in the spring 2013 quarter.

Carleigh Haron of North Kingstown, a member of the class of 2013 at Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., has received Faculty Honors for the 2013 spring semester. To earn Faculty Honors, a student must achieve a semester grade point average of at least a 3.667 with no individual letter grade below B-minus.

Juan De Cardenas of North Kingstown, has earned a BS in Computer Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.


Dean's List Honors

Kara Meringolo of North Kingstown has been placed on the Deans' Commendation List for outstanding academic achievement in the Spring 2013 semester at Gettysburg College. Students with a quality point average in the range of 3.300 to 3.599 for a semester's work are placed on the College's Deans' Commendation List.

The following students have been named to Plymouth State University's President's List: Jeffrey Blair and Samantha Hayes, both of North Kingstown. To be named to the President's List, a student must achieve a grade point average of 3.7 or better for the spring 2013 semester and must have attempted at least 12 credit hours during the semester. These credit hours must be in courses that earn grade points and the student must have completed all such courses attempted.

More than 2,000 high-achieving students have been named to the Hofstra University Dean's List for Spring 2013. Students who began their studies before Fall 2012 must earn at least a 3.4 grade point average to qualify. Those who entered the university after Fall 2012 must earn a grade point average of 3.5. Local students named to the Dean's List include: Natasha Cole of North Kingstown, who is majoring in drama; Kathleen Miller of North Kingstown, who is majoring in communication; and Cody Normand of North Kingstown, is majoring in journalism.

Mark Rini of North Kingstown, class of 2016, has been named to the Dean's List for the spring 2013 semester at Assumption College. To make the Dean's List, Assumption students must achieve a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
