Famed Sculptor Mimi Sammis Reveals Technique at Gilbert Stuart Museum Gala

Mimi Sammis, world-renowned for her scultures of flowing figures and forms, is the honorary chair at the Aug. 5 event under the stars.

SAUNDERSTOWN, RI—The Gilbert Stuart Museum is hosting a gala fundraiser on Aug. 5 to support its art and educational programs.

Famed sculptor Mimi Sammis is serving as Honorary Chair for the event, which will feature hors d'oeuvres, wine and a pleasant evening outside under the stars.

Sammis, known around the world for her lively and playful metal sculptures, is one of the most prominent artists living here in the Ocean State. Her work can be found in numerous public locations, including her famous sculpture of dancing children along Ocean Road in Narragansett.

At the gala, Sammis will offer an exclusive change to see her at work as she demonstrates her technique of turning metal into flowing, liquidlike figures and forms.
