Harold R. McWilliams, Jr., 86, of North Kingstown passed away peacefully Monday, July 25, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.

Harold R. McWilliams, Jr., 86, of North Kingstown passed away peacefully Monday, July 25, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Marion A. (Salisbury) McWilliams.
A lifelong resident of North Kingstown, he was a son of the late Harold R., Sr. and Evelyn (Crumb) McWilliams.
He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War; and was awarded a Bronze Service Star and Purple Heart.

Mr. McWilliams worked as a fish hatchery foreman for the Department of Environmental Management before retiring.
He was an avid coin and baseball card collector; and was a devoted NY Yankees fan. He was a former member of VFW, Post 152.

He leaves four children, Janet L. Birch of Warwick, Gloria A. McWilliams of West Warwick, Teresa M. Schroth of Charlestown and Raymond E. McWilliams of Cranston; a brother, Kenneth McWilliams of North Kingstown; two sisters, Shirley "Betty" Porter and Doris Timpson both of North Kingstown; and nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late Michael R. McWilliams; and grandfather of the late Kellie Lynn McWilliams.
A Committal Service with Military Honors will be held Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 10am in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter. Relatives and friends are invited to gather in the cemetery Administration parking lot at 9:45am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the VFW or Disabled AM Vets will be appreciated.
