Ruth (Brown) Lussier, 94, of North Kingstown, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 8, 2016.

Ruth (Brown) Lussier, 94, of North Kingstown, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at South Kingstown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Alfred J. Lussier. Born in Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late Rueben W. Brown and Marion E. (Dooley) Brown. She was raised in Exeter where she lived for many years before moving to North Kingstown.

Mrs. Lussier fulfilled her lifelong dream graduating from Rhode Island College to become a beloved teacher at Charlestown Elementary School for 32 years. She was an active communicant of St. Bernard’s Church for many years, where she served with the CCD, Legion of Mary, and as a Eucharistic minister. Her volunteer work included the Washington County Retired Teachers Association (president, vice president, program chair), the RI Retired Teachers Association (corresponding secretary), and AARP (Vice President).

She leaves her loving children: Gary J. Lussier and his wife Audrey M. (Kettelle), of Exeter, and Suzanne M. Lussier and her husband Barry J. Collen, of North Kingstown. She was the cherished grandmother of Keith J. Lussier, of Exeter, and the late Mark J. Lussier, of South Carolina, and great-grandmother of Kristin L. Lussier and Jennifer A. Lussier, of North Reading, MA. She was the sister of Richard S. Brown of Exeter, and the late Norma E. (Brown) Fulford of Exeter, and the late Robert W. Brown, of Exeter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, March 12, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bernard Church, 275 Tower Hill Rd., Wickford. Burial will follow in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Tower Hill Rd. North Kingstown. Calling Hours are Friday, March 11 from 5-7 p.m. in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main St., Wickford Village, North Kingstown.
