Obituary: Ruth A. Lesieur, 85, Nurse, Realtor

Ruth A. Lesieur, LPN, 85, of North Kingstown, passed away August 13, 2016. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Real R. Lesieur. Born in Cranston, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Bylon) Overberg.

Mrs. Lesieur’s nursing career included 15 years at Kent Hospital and additionally working at Avalon Nursing Home. She was the first nurse appointed by the Governor to open the dispensary at the Women’s Reformatory. She was also a relator and had worked for Century 21 and Cameron and Lillibridge Real Estate Agencies.

Besides her husband she is survived by; a son John R. Lesieur, a granddaughter Lori Danis and great granddaughters Mycala and Stephanie. She was the mother of the late Carolyn Lesieur and the sister of the late Kenneth Overberg.

Her funeral service will be held Friday, August 19th at 11:00am at the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich. Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00am to 11:00am. Burial will be in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1817 Warwick Ave., Warwick, RI 02889.
